  • This isn't the first time something like this has happened. At least 30 people "flooded" an Yves Saint Laurent store in Glendale just last week, stealing $300,000 worth of merchandise.
  • A bill in California was passed in May that prevents employers from requiring their staff to confront or stop shoplifters.
  • And people wonder why the price of things is going up -- it's because stores are losing money from all of the stolen merchandise!

A mob of people dressed in all black robbed a Nordstrom in Los Angeles on Saturday and stole up to $100,000 worth of merchandise.

Police shared the video footage from the store that shows handfuls of people fleeing from Nordstrom with bags, shoes, jackets, anything they could get their hands on. They broke the glass while fleeing the scene and escaped in multiple vehicles.

Police told the community they will "exhaust all efforts" to identify and press charges against everyone involved in the organized robbery. Police said, "To criminals, it is just property taken. To those who live in the area and patronize the Topanga Mall, it is a loss of feeling safe."

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass also released a statement to condemn the actions of the burglars. She said the people involved "must be held accountable" and that something must be done to "prevent attacks on retailers from happening in the future." (USA Today)
