Former Saturday Night Live star Norm Macdonald has died. He was 61.

The comedian had suffered from cancer for nine years but had never disclosed it, according to TMZ.

Macdonald will be remembered best as one of the anchors of the "Weekend Update" segment on SNL. More recently, he had a recurring role in the ABC sitcom The Middle and voiced the character Yaphit on The Orville.
