Beasy Baybie

Born to a single mother in a small town in West Virginia, Beasy spent much of her youth searching for validation, trying to figure out who and whose she was.

At the age of 13 she was sent to reside in Bethany Children’s Home, a group home for youth, in the outskirts of Reading, PA. Over the next few years Beasy would reside in foster care, detention centers, and the homes of relatives. At the age of 17, Beasy was officially on her own—and a mother of one.

By the age of twenty-six Beasy had three more children and was going to court for more than thirty criminal acts; including conspiracy to commit attempted murder. Accepting a plea deal for three of those charges, she was sentenced to Muncy State Correctional Institution, followed by Specialized Probation.

Upon being released from prison in July 2010, Beasy was sent directly to Kintock Halfway House in Philadelphia P.A. for their Violent Offenders Program.

Eight months later she was released; Beasy returned to Reading, PA for six months, before relocating to Charlotte, N.C.

There, she took up an internship at a privately owned radio station— WGIV. That internship developed into a full time position. One year later Beasy quit that job and applied for a greater position at another hip-hop station in Columbia, South Carolina. She was given the coveted position of midday on-air personality for Hot 103.9fm. In January 2015, she was promoted to afternoon drive talent. Beasy consistently achieved greatness on and off the airwaves. She developed relationships with local news stations and eventually had a segment on WACH57 every Wednesday. Beasy would be found on BET red carpets, on stage at concerts, and serving the community in any capacity needed. She lives by the words “if God can be for us, who can be against us” and attributes her faith and work ethic for all of her success.

With a leap of faith, Beasy resigned from her beloved position with Hot 103.9 in February 2020 and is excitedly looking forward to what’s next. She is the author of two books, That Night I Died and Conv;cted The Beasy Baybie Story. A leader, she is active in fundraising and community initiatives. She also owns a business and volunteers her time serving the homeless and spiritually broken or lost. Beasy is on the road to “Well Done” by any means necessary.
