RapperTay-K has been sentenced to 55 years in prison and handed down a $10,000 fine for the 2016 murder of a 21-year-old father during a home invasion robbery in Mansfield.
The jury also sentenced Tay-K, 19, whose real name is Taymor McIntyre, to 30 years in prison on one count of aggravated robbery and two 13-year prison sentences for the remaining two counts of aggravated robbery related to the home invasion.
In 2016, a then-16-year-old Tay-K and a group of friends broke into Ethan Walker's home and Walker was shot and killed by Latharian Merritt, who was sentenced to life in prison last year.
"The Race," the song and music video that madeTay-K a star, was entered as evidence in the rapper's sentencing since it showed him holding a gun.
The sentences will run concurrently.
