Eminem, De La Soul & Others Mourn The Loss Of Famed DJ Lord Sear

Eminem and other members of the Hip-Hop community are mourning the loss of his tour DJ, Lord Sear.

Sear's family announced his death in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, March 11. In their statement, Sear's loved said he was "more than a voice on the radio — he was a force, a friend, and family to so many of us. Soon after the news spread online, the Detroit native eulogized Sear in an emotional social post.


“Sear was one of the greatest people to be around," Eminem wrote, "I will never forget how he made me laugh on our tour together."

"Our time on @shade45 together was always some of my favorite interviews," he continued. "He made the world a better place and I’m gonna seriously miss that. Rest in peace Lil Trey aka @LordSear!!!”

The 53-year-old mixer and radio host served as Em's DJ during the "Anger Management Tour" in 2000. In the years following the tour, Sear served as a founding DJ of Eminem's Shade45 radio channel.In addition, other rap legends, including De La Soul and Skyzoo, also gave Sear his flowers.

"SMH. RIP Lord Sear," Skyzoo wrote. "EVERYTIME I dropped an album, Sear would invite me up to the show to shed light on my project. Showed endless support. He was for real. Thank you bro. Peace and blessings to your fam. Salute G."

“R.I.P. (Remain In Power) our good friend," De La Soul posted. "We will miss you @lordsear.”
