Cash Cobain has joined the growing number of artists who have issues with using A.I. to create music.

The New York native appeared on Billboard's 2025 No. 1's livestream on Tuesday, December 9, where he was asked about his thoughts on A.I.'s impact on the music industry. During the discussion with Druski and the team, Cobain acknowledged that the nuanced technology would be helpful to artists who need assistance with vocals. However, he wasn't a fan of artists who use A.I. to make an entire song from start to finish.

“I don’t agree with using AI to come up with a whole song,” Cash said.

“I agree with using an AI voice or AI over sound, but as far as generating a whole song, I disagree," he continued. "That’s not fair for real."

The rise of A.I.-generated artists has been a hot topic of discussion over the past year. Some artists, like Timbaland and Chicago rapper BabyChiefDoIt, are supporters of using the technology to create music. BabyChiefDoIt recently admitted that he used ChatGPT to come up with lyrics, while Timbaland has been pushing his new A.I. artist TaTa. Meanwhile, there are plenty of artists who opposed the use of A.I., including Kehlani, who's made headlines for their stance on the subject.

“I think you guys think that A.I. can just be the cover for something," the "Folded" artist said in September. "Which some people can use, they can make an A.I. cover. A.I. can also make the entire f**king song. It can sing the entire song. It can make the entire beat…This is so beyond out of our control. Nothing and no one on Earth will ever be able to justify A.I. to me, especially not AI in the creative arts... I'm sorry I don't respect it."
