POORSTACY reportedly died by suicide, but some of his family members suspect foul play.

According to a report TMZ published on Tuesday, December 2, the Florida rapper allegedly killed himself inside a hotel room in Boca Raton, Fla. over the weekend. POORSTACY, born Carlito Milfort, had stayed at the hotel for 10 days with a woman and a toddler. Milfort was the father of the child, and the woman is its mother. On Saturday, the 26-year-old artist allegedly used a firearm to shoot himself in the head somewhere within the hotel room, but initially survived. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead after being taken off life support.

It's not clear whether the woman and the child were in the hotel room when the shooting occurred. They were not harmed during the incident.

Authorities in Boca Raton have not officially released Milfort's cause of death. However, a source connected with the late rapper's family claims they don't agree with the police's findings. They believe something malicious went down in the hotel room and plan to ask for a formal investigation. Unfortunately, the room was already released back to the hotel to be thoroughly cleaned.

POORSTACY was a rising star in the music industry. The Florida native released his debut album The Breakfast Club in 2020. The album holds 13 tracks, including collaborations with Iann Dior and drummer Travis Barker. He reunited with Barker on another song called "Nothing Left." Following the artist's death, Barker was one of numerous people who paid homage to him online.

"Rest in peace you'll never be forgotten [broken heart emoji]," Travis Barker wrote on his Instagram Story.
