Tank Channels Janet Jackson On His New Single 'Control'

Tank is back with a brand-new single, and it's iHeartRadio's latest World Premiere.

On Tuesday, November 18, the Grammy-nominated singer delivered his new song "Control." On the certified slow jam, Tank takes control of his relationship and takes things to a new level while channeling Janet Jackson on the chorus. The riveting hook was inspired by the Queen of Pop's title track for her 1986 album Control.

"When I tell you do something do it," he croons. "When I tell you move something move it, you got my attention don’t lose it/So much potential I just want you to use it."

Tank's new song arrives as he makes his return to Broadway. The seasoned R&B singer was tapped to portray "Davis" in Alicia Keys' award-winning play Hell's Kitchen. During a recent episode of his R&B Money podcast, Tank and co-host J. Valentine spoke to Keys and maestro Adam Blackstone about the inspiration for the play and its impact on Broadway. She even gave Tank his flowers after he joined the play's cast.

"I just saw you myself in a light that I had never even seen you in," Keys said. "In that room, that small tiny little room. I said, 'Whoa hold on a minute. This is another level. And then watching you take the stage and become Davis, and love it. Like really actually love it and bring like so much light and joy to it."

"Control" also arrives shortly after Tank cooked up a sensual rendition of Kehlani's hit "Folded" for her Folded Homage Pack. Listen to Tank's new single on all iHeartRadio R&B stations. Hear a snippet of "Control" below.
