I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream, so it's a good thing a couple of the best ice cream parlors and dessert shops in the country can be found right here in South Carolina. Nothing says "It's finally summer" like your favorite flavor scooped in a cup or a cone and piled with crunchy toppings and drizzled with caramel or chocolate sauce.
According to a list of the "Top 100 Ice Cream Shops" for 2025 compiled by Yelp, two spots in the Palmetto State are considered a must-visit for anyone looking for a sweet treat or a way to beat the heat and sunny summer weather, including one Phoenix spot in the Top 10:
- No. 7: Melt (North Charleston)
- No. 71: Ice Cream Station (Simpsonville)
Here's what Yelp had to say about determining which shops made the list:
"This is an all-time list of the Top 100 Ice Cream Spots in the US according to Yelp. We identified businesses in the Ice cream category on Yelp, then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews. When available, all businesses on this list have a passing health score as of April 14, 2025."
