Jaden Smith Congratulates 'Boyfriend' Tyler, The Creator On Grammy Win

Tyler, the Creator scored big when Igor took home the title of Best Rap Album at the 2020 Grammys and his "boyfriend" Jaden Smith helped celebrate the win.

After Tyler was announced as the winner at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday night (January 26), Smith, 21, took to Twitter to congratulate the rapper, 28, writing, "My Boyfriend Just Won A Grammy." For years, the two have been saying that they're dating, but they've never been explicit as to whether they're serious about the matter or simply joking. He also performed during the ceremony, offering the crowd with "Earfquake," alongside Boyz II Men, and "New Magic Wand."

Tyler took to the press room after his win and spoke on a string of subjects, including the controversial topic of voting for titles at the ceremony. "I’m half and half on it,” he told a room of reporters. "On the one side I am very grateful that what I made can be acknowledged in a world like this… but it sucks that whenever we, and I mean guys that look like me, do anything that’s genre-bending or anything, they always put it in a rap or urban category."

"And I don’t like that 'urban' word,” he continued. "It's just a politically correct way to say the n-word, to me. So when I hear that, I’m just like, why can't we just be in pop? So I felt like — half of me feels like the rap nomination was a backhanded compliment."
