Kanye West Surprise-Drops New Song "XTCY"

It looks like the Kanye West summer of 2018 hasn't quite ended yet.

In June the rapper got fans all riled up with his new solo album ye followed by his collaborative project with Kid Cudi, Kids See Ghosts. In the wee hours of Saturday morning (August 11) Mr. West gifted fans with even more new music in the form of "XTCY."

News of the unexpected track came from DJ Clark Kent via Twitter. “Sitting in the studio with my man @kanyewest and he said.. ‘Clark, let that new ‘XTCY’ joint go!!! So.. ENJOY: NEW KANYE WEST,” he wrote, alongside a link to a free download of the song. Yeezy confirmed that the news was legit by retweeting DJ Clark Kent.

The single's album art pays tribute to Kanye's in-laws with a candid photo of each of the five Kardashian/Jenner sisters flipping off the camera. Judging from their dazzling outfits, the picture was snapped during Kylie Jenner's 21st birthday on Friday (August 10).

Kanye also references his in-laws in the song's lyrics. “You got sick thoughts? I got more of ’em/ You got a sister-in-law you would smash? I got four of ’em,” he raps in the beginning of the track.
