His song “Mood 4 Eva,” fromThe Lion King: The Giftalbum reached no. 90 on the most recent Hot 100, after it debuted getting him to breaking this record. The track featuresBeyonceandOumou Sangareas well.
Jay has had four songs reach no.1:
- “Heartbreaker” Mariah Carey’s 1999’s single, two weeks
- Beyonce’s 2003 track “Crazy in Love”stayed on the charts for 8 weeks
- The 2007 hit “Umbrella” by Rihanna lasted 7 weeks
- Lastly “Empire State of Mind” with Alicia Keys that came out in 2009 with a run of five weeks
This isn’t only an amazing moment, but for his daughter Blue Ivy Carter who earned her first Billboard entry this week for the debut of “Brown Skin Girl” landing at No. 76 on the Hot 100 Chart.
